Access to funding and market opportunities: Anamzooya Women’s Group thrives to succeed

For years, the Anamzooya (God is Mighty) Women’s Group in the Northern Region has been producing high-quality shea butter, a valuable commodity in Ghana. However, they faced a challenge of finding buyers and securing the necessary capital which hindered their growth. The group’s financial situation was unstable and their ability to sustain their livelihood was weak.

A turning point came in 2023 when Tradeline Consult, a local business advisory firm, recognized the potential of the Anamzooya Women’s Group and their shea butter products. Through a collective effort, Tradeline facilitated and guided the group to secure a GHS 10,000 loan from the Tamale Archdiocesan Union of Cooperative Societies for Development (TAUCSOD) Limited., a cooperative society.

With the additional funds, the group invested in modern equipment, expanded their production capacity, and improved their marketing efforts. They were able to attend trade fairs, establish connections with buyers, and create a strong brand identity for their shea butter.

The impact of the loan has been transformative. Within a few months, the Anamzooya Women’s Group saw a significant increase in sales by 30% and expanded to employ more women. Members of the group can now provide for their families and empower other women.

“We were once a group of women struggling to make ends meet, our shea butter production was limited by lack of funds and we had no access to market, but today, thanks to the support of Tradeline Consult and TAUCSOD, we’ve transformed our business into a thriving enterprise.” Fuseina Kpahimbang, a dedicated member recalls.

Looking ahead, the Anamzooya Women’s Group is ambitious. They plan to further expand their production and explore international markets.
