How financial training transformed Memunatu’s business: Tradeline Consult’s guidance turns a small business into a thriving enterprise

Memunatu Salifu, a dedicated shea butter producer from Sagnarigu in the Northern Region of Ghana, has over the years been challenged with how to properly manage her finances. Despite having a strong vision and a passion for her work, she struggled to maintain consistent production due to poor financial management and limited access to capital. But her story took a new turn when she met Tradeline Consult.

Tradeline Consult didn’t just provide Memunatu with vassistance to secure a loan, they also equipped her with essential financial management skills that became the backbone of her business growth. Through comprehensive training sessions and one-on-one mentorship, Memunatu learned how to budget effectively, track expenses, and set aside funds for the future.

The real impact of this training became evident after she received her first loan of GHS 5,000, facilitated by Tradeline through the Tamale Archdiocesan Union of Cooperative Societies for Development (TAUCSOD) Limited. With her newly acquired financial knowledge, Memunatu was able to properly allocate the funds to purchase raw shea nuts in bulk, increasing her production and ensuring a steady supply chain.

She was able to reach new markets and confidently repay her loan, setting the stage for further expansion. Impressed by her success and strong financial management, Tradeline supported her to secure a second loan of GHS 10,000. With careful planning and record-keeping skills gained from Tradeline’s training, Memunatu is on track to complete her repayment soon.

Today, Memunatu’s production has grown from 50 kg of shea butter per week to 72 kg, thanks to a solid financial foundation. She now dreams of becoming one of the leading shea butter producers in Ghana. Tradeline Consult’s support went beyond just providing funds; it empowered her with the tools to sustain and grow her business.

Through effective financial training, Tradeline has given Memunatu the confidence to make informed business decisions, reinvest her profits, and expand her operations. Her success is a true reflection of how strategic support and guidance can transform a small-scale business into a sustainable venture.

Memunatu’s story is a powerful reminder that access to finance, when coupled with training and mentorship, can turn entrepreneurs into community change-makers.
