In the heart of Gukpegu Tua, in the Northern Region of Ghana, lies the Suglo Mbori Buni Women’s Group—meaning “Patience Moves Mountains.” This collective of 27 determined women is united by a shared vision to transform their livelihoods through shea butter production.
In 2023, the group reached a turning point. Despite their dedication, limited resources restricted their production levels to 45 tons of shea butter annually. That’s when Tradeline Consult stepped in with vital support.
Tradeline’s Role
Tradeline Consult worked closely with the Suglo Mbori Buni Women’s Group, providing technical assistance and financial guidance. Through Tradeline’s facilitation, the group secured a loan of GHS 54,000 from the Tamale Community Credit Union. This funding enabled them to purchase additional raw shea nuts and invest in tools to scale their operations.
With the loan in hand and newfound confidence, the group increased their production from 45 tons to an impressive 54 tons. This growth has significantly boosted their incomes and improved the living standards of their families.

Fatimata Ngo: A Shining Example
One of the group’s brightest stars is Fatimata Ngo, the vibrant chairperson of Suglo Mbori Buni. As a wife, mother of six, and business leader, Fatimata used her portion of the loan to double her weekly shea butter production from 25 kilograms to 50 kilograms.
She shared, “Meeting Tradeline Consult was a blessing for me. Their support has transformed my business and my family’s life.”
Fatimata’s leadership and success have inspired other group members, fostering a culture of mentorship and collective growth within the group.
With continued support from Tradeline Consult and the Tamale Community Credit Union, the Suglo Mbori Buni Women’s Group is determined to reach even greater heights. Together, the Suglo Mbori Buni Women’s Group has proven that with patience, teamwork, and the right opportunities, mountains can indeed be moved.
