Empowering SMEs: KIC-Tradeline Consult capacity building workshop held in Tamale

The Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC), in collaboration with Tradeline Consult, successfully conducted a capacity-building workshop for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from Tamale and Bolgatanga as part of its ongoing regional training series.

The event, held on February 4th and 5th, saw the participation of 40 SMEs from Tamale and Bolga, equipping them with vital skills to enhance their business operations and access critical resources.

The workshop focused on strengthening investment readiness, improving access to finance, and enhancing business strategies. Key topics covered included:

  • Access to Finance & Investment Readiness: Guidance on preparing businesses for funding opportunities and improving financial preparedness.
  • Talent Management & Retention: Strategies for attracting and retaining skilled employees to ensure business growth.
  • Partnership & Market Access: Encouraging SMEs to collaborate and build networks that facilitate market expansion.
  • HR Policies & Business Strategy Development: Insights into creating effective business policies and growth strategies.
  • Financial Management: Best practices in record-keeping and financial planning for sustainable business operations.

Participants engaged with industry experts, gained practical insights, and built valuable connections with other entrepreneurs. The hands-on approach of the workshop provided a platform for SMEs to discuss real challenges faced in their respective businesses and explore solutions.

The KIC capacity-building program continues in other regions, including Wa, Kumasi, and Techiman, reinforcing its commitment to fostering a stronger entrepreneurial ecosystem across Ghana.
