In a bold move to make agricultural education in Ghana more attractive, visible, and industry-relevant, the World Food Programme (WFP) launched the BRIDGE Project, a national initiative to rebrand and reposition the country’s major agricultural colleges. Tradeline Consult, a leading Ghanaian training and project delivery firm, is the lead implementing partner for this transformative programme.
The project targets five key agricultural colleges in Ghana: Damongo, Wenchi, Ejura, Kwadaso, and Ohawu. It equips final-year students with essential job-entry skills while positioning the colleges as dynamic hubs for modern agricultural education.
The two-day training sessions in each college, facilitated by Tradeline Consult, engaged over 2,000 students. These sessions offered interactive workshops on writing impactful CVs and cover letters, navigating job applications and interviews, understanding workplace expectations and labor laws, and exploring the agricultural value chain and agribusiness opportunities.
Participants praised the training for its relevance and practicality. “It was eye-opening. For the first time, I now know the vast opportunities out there when I complete school as an agric student,” shared by a student from Kwadaso Agricultural College.

Beyond career preparation, the BRIDGE Project also addresses institutional visibility. Each college will receive a professionally designed website featuring a career portal, donor engagement hub, and digital learning center. Student-led media teams were trained to manage their schools’ digital presence, ensuring that innovations, events, and opportunities are consistently shared with the public.
This rebranding effort aligns with WFP’s broader vision to make agricultural education in Ghana more responsive to current industry demands. With industry partners such as Farmerline, Boris B Farms, GCX, Agrokings, and Newage, students also gained exposure to potential employers and mentors across the agribusiness value chain.
Amin Yahaya, Tradeline Consult’s Project Lead for the initiative, emphasized: “Tradeline Consult is proud to lead the implementation of this important WFP initiative. We’re not just preparing students to exit school. We’re preparing them to enter and shape the future of agriculture in Ghana.”
